A Talented Bunch
I loved my first experience at the House of Blues. It reminded me of Lupos in Rhode Island, a similar set up. The bands were awesome. All three put on good shows, although I came just to see Charlie Parr. Drive A, a little punk band I've never heard of, were great - they could actually play music and the singer could actually sing. The Almost, I knew two of their songs, I'm not exactly their biggest fan, but I will say they're talented. They could all actually perform and sound like they would on the cd, just like the first band. Charlie Parr, I knew they would be phenomenal. They always put on a great show, and I was not let down at all. Bert is a great front man and really knew how to get the crowd going. It's refreshing to see a line up of bands that can actually put on a show and perform in this day where the studios could easily make an untalented person sound great. I would recommend, however, that if you want to be relaxed during the show, or if this was going to be your first show, you either pay the extra ten bucks for the better seats or you pick the balcony. The pit was enjoyable, but a bit crazy - others might not enjoy it.
